October is Mission Month As we begin the month of October, we enter a special period of
reflection and action for our Church's missionary efforts worldwide. World Mission Sunday, which
will be celebrated on October 20th, is a vital time for all Catholics to support the spread of the
Gospel in mission territories. This year's theme, chosen by Pope Francis, is "Go and invite everyone
to the banquet" emphasizing our call to bring God's love and message to all corners of the world.
The contributions collected on World Mission Sunday are crucial for sustaining the Church's mission
in over 1,150 territories where the Church is still young or struggling. Historically, the Church in the
United States was once a beneficiary of these missionary efforts, and now we have the opportunity
to give back and support our brothers and sisters around the globe. Let us prepare our hearts and
minds to engage fully in this mission throughout the month.

There have been a large number of Phishing Attacks amid our Parishes, Priests, and Parishioners. These attacks are sent through email and cell phone text messages. If you receive an email or a text message from Fr. Brian requesting any help in the form of a donation or gift card for the Parish, BEWARE, this is not Fr. Brian making the request. Please delete the message or email immediately. Do not open any links or attachments. Fr. Brian will never communicate with any parishioners via email or text message to discuss any topic. He will always approach you in person or call you on the phone.
On the weekend of May 4th and 5th, 2024 our parish will participate in a collection to commemorate a centennial celebration of the First Mass being celebrated inside Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC. Also know as America’s Catholic Church For generations, America’s Catholic Church has served as the heart of spiritual comfort in our nation’s Capital for local visitor and pilgrims. This National Shrine was built by and for the faithful of our country, in honor of our Blessed Mother, the patroness of the United States. Since 1924, more than 800,000 Masses and more than 7,000 Ordinations to the Priesthood have been celebrated in the national shrine. Please help preserve Mary’s Shrine for generations to come and honor our Blessed Mother through your generous gift to her shrine. The closing of one Annual Appeal year means the beginning of a new one. In this new year, we have changed the Annual Appeal to the “Annual Catholic Services Appeal” to reflect, directly in the name, our purpose in coming together as a community of faith in service to others. Along with the new name, the theme for the 2024 Annual Catholic Services Appeal is “United in Purpose,” serving as a poignant reminder that together, in the spirit of Christ, we can enable the charitable works of our Church through its many ministries and services.
